Quorum was met and meeting called to order by President Comstock at 801 PM

1. Minutes from last meeting – No questions from floor. Ann McCammon motioned minutes be approved, Betty Montgomery seconded. Motion approved.

2. Committee reports – no questions.

Judges Education – no questions

Health committee report- question from floor was: How we did on health committees today? Mary Miller reports that 76 Bostons were tested. The Dr. has never done this many dogs in one day. The clinics were a phenomenal success.
Charitable Trust Report-no questions
Awards committee – no questions
Constitutional by-laws committee – no questions

Judges Selection committee- McCollough -ballots have been counted this week. Total of 199 votes. Top ten vote getters were selected

Peggy Jackson reports that they need volunteers all over the country. We need your help!
Performance committee – no questions
Treasurer – What is the status of the charitable trust? What is the current balance? $15,807.91. Why not in treasurer’s report? CT is a separate entity and not a part of BTCA so not included in treasures report.
How much has that increased since last year? $100.00.
Any other questions from committees
Is there a show committee report? Brewer reports she is working on a book that next show chairman can use as a guide.

Is there ever a report on CT? Don Van Avery answered: There was a financial report sent to Board in 2004-2005. There will be another one in July 2007 for 06-07

Agility Report – Comstock reported that a new letter from AKC will be sent as the last letter was had errors in it. The BTCA will receive a new letter re-instating BTCA in agility.

Julie Haddy: Read report of Agility match in Leesburg, VA. AKC has re-instated BTCA. Efforts of people involved were applauded

4. Unfinished Business
A. Breed Standard – Norm Randall reported proposed Standard is completed and has been submitted to the BTCA Board. What are the results of prior breed standard change for color? It did not pass. There was not a 2/3rd majority.
B. Other – no questions

5. New business
A. Medallions- Invitational - Board approved issuance of medallions for Eukanuba next year. Carl Gomes has been selected by AKC to judge Breed at the Eukanuba.

Meet the Breed at Eukanuba will be handled by Lisa LaMere & Elizabeth Ferris.

Dottie Truman asked about money collected for performance events this year. Will that money be kept for that purpose? Yes.

Susan Krause – spoke about breed booth at Eukanuba. Wanted to ask that breed clubs be allowed to have input to do the booth.
Joyce Fletcher – give Susan acknowledgement for doing booth at last minute last year.
Linda Howarth - why don’t we have something that BTCA has approved?
Lisa LaMere: I’ve put together some prototypes for booths. Prototype is a booth in a box that can be sent to any requesting club. Represents all facets of breed. Budget is $300.00. So, a fund raiser will be a photo contest. Photos of all types showing the BT in all types of areas will be requested.

Donations from members should go to Treasury noted for Meet the breed booth. Any other donations of any type will be appreciated.

Eukanuba will be in Long Beach CA this next 3 years.
Linda Taylor has donated the embroidered table cloth
BTCA has approved Versatility Awards Committee for BTCA.

Jane Cole – heading up the Versatility Award Committee for our BTs that compete in Conformation, Performance Events. Silver – confirmation, obedience or agility
Gold – conformation, obedience and agility.

Marian Robben: Head of Awards Committee has records and all dogs that already have awards will be given the Award.
Versatility will be awarded only once per dog.

Date and show for next year is in Milwaukee. We do not have a date confirmed.

Has Board approved show chairman next year? Yes. Board has approved an individual and that person is checking their commitments to make sure they are available

Susan Krause – California in 2009 all dogs will be mandatory spay neuter.
Peggy Jackson- just a matter of time that this will be all over the country. AKC has information on this on their web page

Don Van Avery - made a motion that show chairman, president can not show at the national specialty and would follow the rules of show secretary. Kathleen Brewer seconded it.

Q: Can one of their dogs be shown by handler? No
Q: does this apply to host club –no
Call for vote by Don Van Avery- motion passed.

Checks received by Purina for futurity monies. Could the BTCA do this? Board will consider this. Rules and regulations will be published in Coast to Coast. Mike Staley has paperwork for this and delivered it to Fred Comstock.

Peggy Jackson: does it require more than one puppy in the litter? No
Mary Miller – Boxer club futurity for boxers that she has attended have been very successful. Top 20 competition event has been very successful also.
